NBC Universal quietly made the decision to cancel the daytime talk show that has aired since 1991. Producers from the show told AP that “there is a possibility” of more originals from Springer in the future. The chair-throwing mayhem won’t disappear completely as several networks have bought syndication rights to air reruns. Springer, the 74-year-old former Cincinnati mayor, began the show to cover important political issues but in order to increase ratings, covered controversial and salacious topics.
