Iran has no plans to increase missile range: Revolutionary Guards Commander
  • 6 years ago
The chief of Iran's Revolutionary Guards says the country has no plans to increase the range of its missiles.
Mohammad Ali Jafari said Tuesday that Tehran has the scientific ability to extend its current two thousand kilometer range, but doesn't need to because most of Iran's enemies are within that radius.
The two thousand kilometer limit was set last year by the country's Supreme Leader.
Jafari's comments come amid mounting U.S. pressure over Tehran's missile program.
Meanwhile, Tehran again ruled out fresh talks with Washington, which some Iranian politicians and activists have called for following President Trump's withdrawal from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
