Second Deputy Dies After She Was Shot During Fight With Prisoner

On Saturday, Reuters reported that a second Kansas sheriff’s deputy has died, after being shot during a fight with a prisoner who was being taken from jail to court for a hearing in Kansas City. According to the Kansas City Police Department, Deputy Theresa King died from her wounds at a local hospital. Officials said that another deputy, Patrick Rohrer, was also killed during the incident. The department said that the deputies were shot on Friday after a suspect overpowered at least one of them and perhaps took a weapon.
