So-called 'smart' appliances are those that are connected to the internet so certain functions can be carried out remotely. Some, like those that turn on the HVAC system or the lights or burglar alarm, really are quite clever. But according to Digital Trends, some gizmos just aren't that bright. For instance, why would you even want a delayed start of a slow cooker? Leaving raw chicken sitting in a Crock Pot for several hours before beginning to cook it could lead to food poisoning.
