High School Boys Held Feminine Product Drive To Help Classmates

These high school boys from New Haven, CT collected hundreds of tampons and pads to save their female classmates some stress. They collected the products after learning that 86% of women are surprised by their periods while in public. The students are part of the Kiyama Movement, which works to improve the lives of African-Americans. ‘Respect for Womanhood’ is one of the group’s Five Key Principles. Michael Jefferson, Founder of Kiyama Movement says, “It’s an issue around sexism, and we have to, men have to challenge sexism. It’s not the job of women to challenge sexism, it’s the job of men, who perpetuate sexism.” Preach.
