Some Palestinians in Gaza prepare kites with burning material attached, drifting them over the border between the enclave and Israel to try to set fire to farmland and scrub. For more than a month hundreds of such kites have been launched across the border, setting fire to hundreds of hectares (acres) of farmland and protected scrub.
