Factory worker arrested for adding foreign objects into sausage links

JOHNSONVILLE, WISCONSIN — A worker at Wisconsin's Johnsonville Sausage plant was caught placing strange objects into sausage links during his shift, and was arrested, reports Fox News.

Jonathan Lane was apparently pretending to have done no wrong, by going up to his superiors and acting as if he found the items himself.

But Lane reportedly placed cigarette paper and wire connector into different sausage links, Fox News reports.

In factory surveillance cameras, Lane was seen as the one placing objects into the meat.

Lane was arrested on Friday and was charged with two counts of tampering with a consumer product and acting with reckless disregard for risking the lives of others.

He may face up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines, for both counts, if he is convicted.

Johnsonville was quick to react, commenting that none of the contaminated sausages made it out of the factory.
