EU to launch retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports starting from July
  • 6 years ago
The European Union has revealed its plan to impose retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports such as oranges, jeans, and motorcycles starting from July.
The decision comes in response to President Trump's decision to slap tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from Europe.
The vice president of the European Commission said the formalities should be completed this month.
The EU has also taken its case against the U.S. to the World Trade Organization.
The "rebalancing" tariffs on about 2-point-8 billion euros worth of U.S. imports could increase to a 3-point-6 billion euros if the WTO rules in favor of the EU.
