At least 34 people were detained in Kyiv when men with covered faces ransacked a market after a salesman punched a pensioner, breaking his nose.

The incident took place near Lisova metro station in the east of the city.

The first half of the video shows the original incident, on May 25. The man, a veteran, admonished a seller for his behaviour towards a pair of women at the stall, his daughter wrote on Facebook. His nose was fractured as a result, Elena Stoiko said. A 24-year-old Georgian man was later detained.

The second half of the video shows a subsequent incident on May 27. At the same market, masked men ransack the stalls, tearing the area to pieces. "Three law enforcement officers received bodily injuries," Kyiv police chief Andriy Krischenko told Ukrainski Novini.
