Billionaire David Koch Stepping Down From Business and Political Roles Koch, who co-owns Koch Industries with his brother Charles, is stepping down due to health issues. The billionaire had been struggling with his health for the past few years, even doing a stint in the hospital in the summer of 2016. Unfortunately, these issues have not been resolved and his health has continued to deteriorate. As a result, he is unable to be involved in business and other organizational activities. The Koch brothers are also well-known conservatives and have contributed millions of dollars in support of the Republican Party over the years.
