IAEA able to deploy inspectors to N. Korea within weeks once political deal is struck: Amano
- 6 years ago
The UN's nuclear watchdog has stressed that it's ready to resume operations to inspect and verify the process of North Korea's denuclearization.
At a press conference in Vienna on Monday,... IAEA chief Yukiya Amano said... the agency is keeping a close eye on recent developments surrounding Pyongyang's nuclear program.
He added that... the agency will be able to resume its operations within North Korea in a matter of weeks -- once a political agreement is struck among the relevant parties and a board authorization is given.
The IAEA inspectors were expelled from North Korea in 2009.
