Pan-India farmers strike enters day 2; Haryana CM slams protesting farmers

It’s a 10 day strike. One that aims to highlight the plight of farmers pan India. From Punjab to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh to Uttar Pradesh, protests have affected normal life under the banner of Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh. The federations has demanded that the centre grants a farm loan waiver as well as implement Swaminathan commission’s recommendations and increase the minimum support price at the earliest. As the strike enters day 2, farmers have decided to suspend supplies of vegetables and diary produce to nearby cities and stage roadside Dharnas along 30 major highways in the country. It remains to be seen if the centre will step in.
