Rather than pouring more gasoline on that fire, the former first daughter replied, "Hi… 1) It shouldn't be used to describe anyone, including my wonderful mother. 2) For decades, people, often older men, have called me ugly, a donkey, a dog." "I'm far more upset thousands of Americans died in Puerto Rico post-Maria because we failed them. Blessings to you," she also wrote.
Her tweet follows the release of a Harvard study on the Hurricane Maria-related death count in Puerto Rico.
According to the Washington Post, the study "estimates that at least 4,645 deaths can be linked to the hurricane and its immediate aftermath, making the storm far deadlier than previously thought. Official estimates have placed the number of dead at 64."
