Germany's Antonio Rudiger Is Ruled Out Of Euro 2016 After Tackle From Thomas Muller
  • 5 years ago
The German squad arrived at the Hotel Ermitage, their Euro 2016 team base camp in Evian-les-Bains.

But they were dealt a blow in their very first training session which was also open to the public.

Defender Antonio Rudiger was seriously injured in a one-on-one situation with striker Thomas Muller during a short training game played at the end of the session.

The injury may cause problems for Germany head coach Joachim Loew given Mats Hummels will not be fit to play the first few games of the competition.

Rudiger will now definitely miss the tournament but Loew is yet to decide whether to call up a replacement.

Germany begin their campaign against the Ukraine in Lille on June 12th.
