Former Chelsea Doctor Eva Carneiro Arrives For Employment Tribunal Against Chelsea & Jose Mourinho
  • 5 years ago
Former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro's employment tribunal against the London club and former manager Jose Mourinho started in Croydon on Monday (6th June).

Eva Carneiro is claiming constructive dismissal against Chelsea and has a separate, but connected, personal legal action against Mourinho for alleged victimisation and discrimination.

Mourinho slammed Carneiro, 42, for going on to the pitch to treat Eden Hazard in the closing stages of Chelsea's opening Premier League game against Swansea last August, an action which left the London club temporarily down to nine men.

She was dropped from first-team duties and left the club six weeks later.

The case is expected to be heard over the course of a week with Carneiro set to give evidence on Tuesday.

Documents released to the media show Carneiro rejected a settlement offer of 1.2 million pounds (1.7 million US dollars) from the club.

Mourinho, who left Chelsea last December and was appointed as Manchester United's new manager last week, is expected to give evidence to the tribunal.
