Couple banned from decorating the front door of their flat due to health and safety

A couple have blasted "Scrooge" housing chiefs who banned them from decorating their front door with a Christmas wreath - because of health and safety fears.

Charles Bridges, 24, and wife Katie, 23, were "baffled" when they received a letter demanding they remove the silver decoration a week before Christmas Day.

The letter claimed that, because the £3.99 wreath was displayed in a "communal area", it could pose a fire risk.
