Lionel Messi & The Argentina Squad Train In San Jose Ahead Of Copa America Opener Against Chile

Lionel Messi and the Argentina national squad train in San Jose, California ahead of Monday's Copa America Group D opener against Chile (5th June).

Argentina trained at San Jose State University in California on Sunday, on the eve of their opening game at the Copa America Centenario against Chile at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Star man Lionel Messi took part in a light session, but the Barcelona striker remains an injury doubt for the game.

Messi was substituted in the second half of Argentina's final warm-up game before the tournament, a 1-0 over Honduras on May 28th.

The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) subsequently described Messi's condition as "recovering from a blow on the back and ribs."

Argentina versus Chile is a repeat of the 2015 Copa America final, which was won by Chile on penalties following a 0-0 draw.
