Europe's largest chandelier has been made in Britain
  • 5 years ago
The tallest chandelier in Europe has been installed at a hotel - measuring an astonishing 36 FEET. The 11-metre ornament, which features 25,000 individual stunning lead crystals took over six months to design and build and is now the crowning glory of a four star seaside hotel. Installed during a multi-million pound refurbishment, the chandelier required more than 2,000kg of structural steel to support it from the atrium ceiling at the Hythe Imperial Hotel in Kent. Manufacturers Wilkinson Ltd, which has held the Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen as glass restorers since 1985, say the masterpiece is easily the biggest in Europe - and weighs more than a tiger.
