A selfless lollipop lady who’s job is being axed by a cash-strapped council vowed to carry on working voluntarily to stop children ‘dicing with death’ on a dangerous road. Lorraine Robinson, 63, helps children from two primary schools and a secondary school to cross the road safely every morning and every afternoon.Dressed in her hi-vis waterproof coat, Ms Robinson has been shepherding children across the busy road for three years - and wants to continue, even if her work is no longer salaried. Two years ago her job was thrown into jeopardy as North Somerset Council scrapped funding.
