Britain's unluckiest patient has hernia operation cancelled SIX TIMES
  • 5 years ago
A dad-of-three could be one of Britain's unluckiest hospital patients after he had a routine hernia operation cancelled SIX TIMES. James Taylor, 43, has been waiting so long for the surgery his four hernias have ripped a whole in the wall of his abdomen leaving him in almost constant pain. On one occasion, he even had pen marked out on his stomach indicating where the surgeon would cut into him but the op was cancelled at the last minute. Since May this year, the 90-minute procedure has been cancelled six times as a result of a lack of beds, shortage of staff and the surgeon being "too tired".
