Skier pulled from avalanche and saved thanks to his helmet

This is the incredible moment a snowboarder was miraculously pulled from an avalanche alive - after his British-made helmet created a life-saving air pocket. David Rovira Salvadó, 27, was tackling a tricky descent when the ground gave way beneath him and he tumbled 300ft down a Spanish mountainside. He was buried under 6ft of snow but his pals located him using a GPS tracker and dug down to free his head in just seven minutes. David had fallen unconscious but he survived thanks to an air pocket created around his nose and mouth inside his Ruroc helmet, made by the Gloucester-based firm.
