Manchester United assistant manager Ryan Giggs says new boss Louis van Gaal will not be afraid of taking over at Old Trafford, but will instead "relish it".

Van Gaal will arrive at United next week after leading his Netherlands side to the World Cup semi-finals, where they lost in a penalty shootout to Argentina.

Giggs, who took temporary charge of United at the end of last season, says he has spoken and been in email contact with Van Gaal.
