House Collapsed Minutes After It Was Evacuated

A family had a lucky escape yesterday (Weds) when they were evacuated from their home - just minutes before it COLLAPSED. The end-of-terraced house and its neighbour was cleared of people after the roof started to sag overnight, but minutes after builders arrived and cordoned off the property, the entire roof and front of the house came crashing down. Police have now closed the road in Lewisham, south east London, due to fears that the house, which was undergoing a refurbishment, may collapse further. Residents were evacuated at around 11am, and moments later, the roof fell in. Ted Ashton, a passerby, was walking to work when he spotted the carnage.
