New device brings harmony to village church bells
  • 5 years ago
The bells at St Mary's Church in Ashwell, Herts., had chimed every 15 minutes for around 118 years without trouble. But some families complained of being kept awake at night when they re-started again after being silenced for repairs two years ago. Noise assessors were called in from North Herts District Council and they declared the chimes were "prejudicial to health".
