Models become first British team to compete in world's hardest desert RALLY.

Two stunning models have swapped their high heels for overalls and crash helmets to become the first ever British team to compete in the world's hardest desert RALLY. Self-confessed "girly girl" Annaliese Dayes (corr), 28, and best pal Dani J, 29, have entered the women-only race Rallye Aicha des Gazelles. The gruelling rally sees teams of two racing across 1,553miles (2,500km) of the Moroccan desert through dried-out river beds and sandy dunes for nine days. To make the race even more difficult, GPS or satellite navigation systems are banned along with binoculars and mobile phones. Instead, teams have to use old-fashioned maps with the winners being the women who travel the quickest route between checkpoints. The majority of the 188 teams in the rally are entered by corporate giants such as Mercedes or fuel company Total. But in September last year, London-based models Annaliese and Dani decided to become the first British team to take on the extreme challenge.
