Teenager Ryan Smith has taken his first steps since being knocked off his bike by a van in Chapel St Leonards, Lincs, last year. Ryan, 17, was cycling to work when the crash happened, but he was not wearing a helmet as he didn't want to mess up his hair. He was in a coma and has since been undergoing therapy at the Children's Trust Tadworth rehabilitation unit in Surrey. And on Father's Day, Ryan's dad Mark has described his son's latest progress as "the best Father's Day present a Dad could ever get" as Ryan was recorded on film walking across a hydrotherapy pool with minimal assistance.
