A woman drives up the M5 the wrong way

A woman has admitted driving the wrong way along the Sandwell stretch of the M5 for four miles whilst under the influence of alcohol. The woman, aged 26, appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (20 February) where she pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs, relating to an incident in the early hours of 4 December 2013 where she drove into the path of oncoming vehicles on the southbound carriageway, between junctions 2 and 1. She will be sentenced on 28 March.
