Days after violence marred the Panchayat polls in West Bengal – a Dalit youth and BJP worker was found hanging from a tree near his house in Purulia district in West Bengal. Scribbled on the back of the youth’s t- shirt was a chilling message, stating the reason behind his death- his association with the BJP. A note found near his body said that he was killed for being involved with BJP. BJP National President Amit Shah in a tweet expressed his angst and said that the youth was killed by ‘state sponsored goons’. A large number of BJP workers undertook protest rallies across the state to protest the killing. The body has been sent for post mortem and investigations are currently on.
