Ahead of Karnataka floor test, Congress' Ramesh Kumar elected as the speaker of Vidhana Soudha. The Congress-Janata Dal-Secular alliance had claimed they have the support of 116 MLAs, which will be tested today. The BJP candidate for speaker post, S Suresh Kumar backed out his nomination before the election. The Congress and JDS have a combined strength of 118 MLAs, including two independents, Kumar is expected to win.
