‘Designer’ dogs worth £1,000 fuel rise in pet theft

A celebrity trend of posting photos of pet pooches online and the rising popularity of designer breeds may be fuelling an increase in the theft of dogs. Police figures show five were stolen every day last year. French bulldogs, huskies and Staffordshire Bull Terriors are among the most sought after.
