Artist / Band Biography
Matt Brown is twenty-something independent soul artist who lives in West Palm Beach, Florida. Coming from a musical family, he has always been a student of music and remains eager to polish his craft as he plays with local bands while launching a solo career of his own.

With musical roots in the church, where Matt started playing bass at 12, he has since expanded his repertoire to multiple instruments. His focus has always been bass, though, and he currently plays an Ibanez SR656. Since 2013 he’s blended funk, reggae, and rock with the local band Making Faces as its bassist and vocalist, and in 2017 started the soulful band Mood Swing with brother and drummer Rudy Brown III.

He released “Mona Lisa”, an original song that he wrote and composed, as a single earlier this year. Rudy Brown, Jr., Matt's father, is featured in the official video on the Yamaha Grand.

Matt’s sound is best described as jazz-soul fusion, with influences like Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Snarky Puppy, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding, Victor Wooten, Cory Henry, Weather Report, Musiq Soulchild, Dwele, Bilal, and Erykah Badu.
