3 easy mini buttercream cakes- Rosies Dessert Spot

In this video tutorial I will demonstrate how to create 3 different buttercream decorated mini cakes.\r

All three cakes were baked in 4 inch round cake tins. The recipe I used was a chocolate cake recipe:\r

320 grams butter\r
2 + 1/2 cup sugar\r
2 tsp vanilla extr\r
4 eggs\r
3 cups of self raising flour\r
1/2 tsp salt\r
1 cup cup cocoa powder\r
4 tablespoons sour cream\r
1/2 cup buttermilk\r

THIS RECIPE WILL FILL 3X 4 ROUND CAKE TINS WITH A LITTLE TO SPARE. you may decide to make cupcakes out of the extra left over :) \r

SUGAR SYRUP RECIPE:\r
200 grams caster sugar\r
200 grams water\r
1/2 tsp vanilla extr or a liquor of your choice\r
1. Combine water in a sauce pan over medium heat. Allow the sugar to dissolve in the water, stirring gently. \r
2. Allow the mixture to come to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly before adding in your vanilla\r

BUTTERCREAM RECIPE\r
250 grams unsalted butter\r
500 grams icing sugar\r
1 tsp vanilla extr\r
2 to 3 tablespoons milk\r

THE COLOURS USED:\r
Soft Pink Americolour Soft Gel Food Colour (buttercream pearls, blossoms and the ribbon)\r
Mint Green Americolour Soft Gel Food Colour (floral boarder cake mini leaves and the centre of the blossoms)\r
Avocado Americolour Soft Gel Food Colour (for the larger leaves on the half pearl cake)\r

THE PIPING TIPS USED I THIS TUTORIAL:\r
tip #1 (mini floral boarder cake)\r
tip #3 (naked cake pearl boarder)\r
tip #10 (pearl boarder cake)\r
tip # 65 (mini leaves for the floral boarder cake)\r
tip # 67 (larger petal tip for the leaves on the half pearl cake)\r
tip #101 ( to create the blossoms)\r
