Cycling the A5 Shared Path (Hinckley to Nuneaton)

With Highways England planning to widen the A5 between Dodwells Roundabout, Hinckley and the A47 Longshoot (for Nuneaton), with the proposals to include a new shared pedestrian/cycle path, I decided to ride the existing section to see just how poor this type of provision is.
As can be expected, there's the potential conflict with pedestrians (especially at a bus stop), numerous vehicles obstructing the path, large side access roads that need to be crossed and a three/four stage crossing to join the A47 Longshoot.
It's not great!
