A few weeks before Donald Trump pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal, Tariq traveled to the University of Illinois in the US, where he met with Iranian professor Behrooz Ghamari-Tabrizi.

They started by discussing Behrooz’s most recent book, Remembering Akbar, which is set during the Iranian revolution. They also talked about the real identity of Iran’s politics and its status as a sovereign state in the Middle East - which is a problem for the US.
