International reporters head to North Korea to witness nuke site dismantlement
  • 6 years ago
Reporters from the U.S., China, Russia, and the UK who will cover the dismantlement of North Korea's nuclear test site left Beijing for Wonsan Kalma Airport this morning.
The reporters will stay in Wonsan.
Accommodation and a press center are provided for them.
And on an unspecified day between Wednesday to Friday, they will take a train to the Punggye-ri nuclear test site to watch the dismantlement.
South Korean reporters -- who were initially invited as well -- have been left at the airport in Beijing, with the North still not processing their visa applications.
Despite Seoul's efforts to contact the North through the Panmunjom channel early Tuesday, a South Korean official revealed the North said "they had not been given an order" in regards to the visas.
