Amit Shah was asked in a press conference today of what he thought of the anti-Modi alliance that's being constructed. He predictably dismissed it. A senior congress leader told me 2 days ago, that the premise was simple. In multi-cornered contests, the BJP benefitted. The formula is even simpler. The party that has a historical better grip on a particular state should take on the BJP. The rest should bow out. The premise is simple, it's application not so much. Who'll bow out in Bengal against the BJP for example? And if it's done, can they ever work together for a common purpose. Here's where we've reached now with just 1 year to go to general elections. Listen in.
