Trump Cites WSJ: 'Where In The World Was Barack Obama?'

President Trump took a jab at former President Obama in a tweet on Monday.

President Trump on Monday morning cited a Friday op-ed, tweeting, "The Wall Street Journal asks, 'WHERE IN THE WORLD WAS BARACK OBAMA?' A very good question!" The piece referenced touches upon the reports regarding an FBI informant who allegedly interacted with the Trump campaign advisers over possible ties with Russia.
"Perhaps it's a good moment to get the whole story from our 44th President," James Freeman, the Wall Street Journal op-ed author, comments. "There really was no way for Mr. Obama to avoid being at the center of this story. But in a somewhat larger story he has remained largely—and strangely—absent."  "By this point it seems clear that Mr. Obama didn't think much of the theory that Mr. Trump colluded with the Russians...But we can assume that the President was fairly well-informed about the law enforcement agencies reporting to him. Therefore let's hear from him in detail the full history of how the government came to investigate the presidential campaign of the party out of power," Freeman further notes.  That investigation has become a charged, partisan issue.  Reporting from the New York Times indicates the informant spoke with at least two advisers, Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. "No evidence has emerged that the informant acted improperly when the F.B.I. asked for help in gathering information on the former campaign advisers, or that agents veered from the F.B.I.'s investigative guidelines and began a politically motivate," the Times piece adds. President Trump's take on the matter was expressed in a Friday tweet, "Reports are there was indeed at least one FBI representative implanted, for political purposes, into my campaign for president."
"It took place very early on, and long before the phony Russia Hoax became a 'hot' Fake News story. If true - all time biggest political scandal!" Trump also wrote.
