Playtime with Thomas & Friends Trackmaster revolution track

Hi Guys and Gals here we have a quick video of me playing with some Trackmaster revolution track, a simple loop and the Sodor spiral expansion pack, will I like it? stay tuned!\r
\r
Before I filmed this video I also had the breakaway bridge set on the other end of the track but it was full of fail! Many locomotives were too top heavy (The talking engines specifically and my modified ones) and they simply fell off! So I got frustrated and made it onto a normal curve, thats not to say it wont work with unmodified engines that you guys have at home but it just didnt work well for me today.\r
\r
So it is a fun little track system but it is not without its problems, early on I reviewed the sodor water tower starter set and the track was warped and wouldnt stay flat, I am happy to say that Mattel have addressed this issue and the track now sits quite flat and connects together decently most of the time.\r
\r
There were a couple of corners on the spiral that kept coming loose and causing derailments, now I took allot of care to set it up correctly so these problems were disappointing. The trains also could only go up the spiral, sending them around the other way to go down the spiral resulted in the trains derailing and falling off the top.\r
\r
But anyway having seen allot of this track now there are some things I like:\r
\r
*It fits in a comp space.\r
*it looks more like real train track.\r
*The sets with hills and danger are exciting for kids and give allot of play value!\r
\r
\r
Things I didnt like:\r
*Too many unique track pieces for sets (it gets confusing if they are all mixed up)\r
*Non standard loop radius (breakaway bridge is a larger radius than the spiral)\r
*Complex assembly required by an adult.\r
*Little to no flexibility of changing track design due to unique track pieces (its all very cookie cutter).\r
\r
Anyway I have come to appreciate the Trackmaster revolution track for what it is, different to all other track systems with some good ideas and excitement of accidents happening often lol. I like the blue track for the reliable running and standardized pieces that can make for amazingly crazy tower builds etc.\r

Thanks for watching!\r
