Cheetah Experience is not only a registered center for the breeding of endangered African Big and Lesser cats like Cheetahs, Leopards, and Servals but also s as an education, rescue, and rehabilitation center. When they have the resources, time, and space available, they will help other native Africa Wildlife. Some cannot be released while others are just an animal needed a permanent home or in this case, a baby African Vervet monkey who lost his mom in conflict with ranchers.\r

George was found attached to his dead mother at just a few days old and brought to Cheetah Experience for care until he could be further trained at an orphanage and then released into a wild vervet monkey troop.\r

The following are some clips of George and his new beginnings before being released. I got the opportunity to babysit, feed, and spend some nights with him. He didnt like me at 1st and leaned towards women, but he eventually warmed up to the idea of me helping care for him.\r

I was impressed how emotional and human like he was. Very inquisitive and fascinated by everything. Like male vervet monkeys in the wild, even at 2 months old, he challenged authority. But he was also a baby and got freightened easy and sought comfort in his surragate mothers. He displayed a whole host of emotions and I show some of them in this video.\r

Enjoy this time stamp of George the blue vervet monkeys life :) I am happy to report he was successfully placed within a surrogate vervet monkey troop months later; somewhere in Northern South Africa.\r
