In Colombia, the prosecutor's office has begun several investigations into the flooding of the Cauca river, at Colombia's largest hydroelectric project, that caused the evacuation of tens of thousands of people. Community leaders had previously denounced the construction of the dam, as experts warned the mega-project would endanger the life of many.
