Good afternoon. On and off rain and powerful thunderstorms have lashed the northern regions for the past few days, but we'll finally see the rain letting up today.

Dark clouds are moving out to the east. So eastern regions could see showers throughout the day, while the capital will only see light sprinkles here and there in the morning hours.

The high in Seoul will be couple notches lower than average at 20 degrees Celsius,... Gyeongju will reach 22 degrees. Daegu will be one of the warmest cities getting up to 27.

We'll finally have a sunny and dry weekend, most parts will get plenty of sunshine with temperatures around the seasonal average.

With that, let's take a look at the international weather for viewers around the world.

Rain will linger in the eastern regions but the rest of South Korea will be under a mix of clouds and sun. North Korea will also have another day of showers but a sunny weekend is on way.

As for the rest of Asia, those in Manila will have scattered clouds with the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm developing this afternoon.

Over in New Zealand, wintry conditions are set to spoil the weekend, bringing rain, gusty westerlies and snow to parts of the South Island.

Vancouver's weekend is shaping up to be a scorcher, especially for Mother's Day on Sunday with an expected high of nearly 30 degrees Celsius.

As for South America, most major cities will be under mainly sunny skies on Friday.

Taking you to Europe,... rain in Madrid will continue into the weekend...keep an umbrella handy.

Lastly to Africa, expect very hot weather on Friday across Egypt, with mist affecting visibility across the north of the country in the morning.
