Governments Are Cracking Down On Trans Fats

Heart disease is the biggest cause of death in the world. It's responsible for more than 17 million deaths each year. By eliminating trans fats, the World Health Organization says countries could save at least 500,000 lives a year. The WHO just announced a plan to have trans fats banned around the world by 2023. Trans fats are often found in fried foods, baked goods, and snack products. The CDC director said, "Trans fat is an unnecessary toxic chemical that kills."
