Skellig island / Skellig-Luke & Rey (music skellig)_xvid

Skellig island used as a location in Star Wars the force awakens is more than just a great visual setting as it also has parallels with the movie . It was originally home to an order of ancient Irish Monks during the 12th/ 13th century,who lived an isolated existence (Luke being the futuristic version of the monks) The original monks eventually left due to worsening atmospheric conditions on the island & the order coming under attack from invading Vikings on their way to raid the mainlands, Again this has similarities to the starkiller destroying worlds in the movie & also being the reason Luke eventually leaves the island. Lukes reluctance to not use force against the threat of the first order would be similar to that of the monks in the 12th century.
The music performed by Loreena McKennitt tells of a young monk joining the botherhood on Skellig after hearing the call of god. (Rey becoming aware of the force & seeking out the Master in Luke Skywalker is the futuristic & movies version of this)
The music is one of my favourite LM songs & I think the parallels combine together in an interesting way to tell several stories linked together to the history of Skellig is.
