Creatures Animation: is an Animation studio based in Kampala, Uganda. Animation is still in its infancy in the country and something of this scale had not yet been achieved. Creatures aims to help grow the animation industry in Uganda & Africa by extension.
The "A Kalabanda Ate my Homework" project is the very first project from Creatures Animation. The project commenced in November 2015 in order to build the Creatures team that would be capable of handling larger projects in the future (like animated series/ features films). It started with just two members, brothers Raymond & Robin Malinga. The rest of the team was discovered over a period of a year and by November 2016, we had assembled six more artists in total. Both the team and the project were being built simultaneously.
Note: One of the aims when making this film was to get as original as possible. So all the music, models, and characters were created from scratch.
