Ford Workers Face Temp Layoffs In Kansas City

About 3,600 union workers at Ford Motor Co.'s Kansas City Assembly Plant are on temporary layoff this week. This because of a parts shortage following a fire at a Michigan-based supplier. according to Ford and the UAW, the workers will be furloughed May 7-14.
The layoffs affect 3,600 workers who build the F-150 pickup.
Ford said workers will receive about 80 percent of their take-home pay for the hours they're losing this week.
