The Nigerian Army rescued over 1,000 captives of the insurgency Boko Haram.
The captives were found in the northeastern Nigerian state of Borno.
A military spokesman stated most of them were women and children held hostage, while some young men were forced to become fighters.
Troops of Nigeria's 22nd Brigade rescued them as part of Operation Lafiya Dole, meant to engage Boko Haram in one of their enclaves.
Troops found the hostages in four villages within Borno.
