Arizona Teachers Strike Deal With Governor for Funding
  • 6 years ago
Public educators in Arizona tentatively agreed to end an impromptu strike, and to return to work by the end of the week.
The decision will end a six-day strike, that served a different purpose.
Instead of striking for higher salaries and better working conditions, Arizona's public school teachers protested outside their state's legislature, seeking additional funding for public education.
And their efforts have identifiable results.
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey signed a new budget bill into law that includes funding for public education that was going to cut.
