Washington, Beijing should resolve trade disputes through equal-footed consultations: China

China says it welcomes a large U.S. trade delegation that's set to arrive in Beijing for a two-day trip starting today.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, China's foreign ministry said Washington and Beijing should properly resolve relevant disputes through equal-footed consultation as the world's two biggest economies.
Take a look.

"As long as the U.S. is sincere about maintaining the long-term stability of China-U.S. economic and trade ties and comes to the negotiating table with mutual respect and win-win results in mind, then we believe that the bilateral consultation would be constructive."

The U.S. delegation, led by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, is set to exchange views with Chinese Vice Premier (Lew-Her) Liu He on their bilateral trade and economic issues.
The trip comes as President Trump hopes to reduce tensions after the two sides came to the brink of a full-blown trade war after a tit-for-tat tariff battle.
