Trump Threatens ‘To Use The Powers Granted' And 'Get Involved' Against The DOJ

President Trump on Wednesday threatened to get involved in a Justice Department related issue.

President Trump on Wednesday threatened to get involved in what seems to be a document-related row between the Department of Justice and the Freedom Caucus, a group of far-right U.S. Representatives. "A Rigged System - They don't want to turn over Documents to Congress. What are they afraid of? Why so much redacting? Why such unequal 'justice?' At some point I will have no choice but to use the powers granted to the Presidency and get involved!" he wrote. Trump also tweeted, "There was no Collusion (it is a Hoax) and there is no Obstruction of Justice (that is a setup & trap)," and call inquiries into those matters a "Witch Hunt."  Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, has explained that while he fully supports oversight by Congress, he is also committed to ensuring that ongoing investigations are not compromised.  During a Tuesday event, he said, "I think they should understand by now the Department of Justice is not going to be extorted."  "If we were to just open our doors to allow Congress to come and rummage through the files, that would be a serious infringement on the separation of powers," he also noted.
Rosenstein's remarks followed reports that the Freedom Caucus has drafted articles of impeachment against him.
