The SC today issued notice and sought view of the centre on two new petitions involving six persons belonging to the gay community seeking quashing of section 377 IPC which criminalizes Homo-sexual act. The three judge bench hearing the case said that the fresh pleas filed in court for decriminalisation of sec 377 will now be heard along with the main case by the constitution bench. A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and justices Am Khanwilkar and Dy Chandrachud had earlier asked the centre to file a response to Suri's plea within a week, and also said that his petition will be heard along with other pleas on the same matter by the constitutional bench. The Supreme Court had issued a notice to the centre on a plea filed by hotelier keshav suri, challenging criminalisation of gay sex between two consenting adults.
